2019 Mad About Modern Home Tour

The Charlotte Museum of History will be hosting the 8th annual Mad About Modern Home Tour on Saturday, September 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The tour typically features homes exclusively in South Park, due to the many modern homes in the area. This year’s tour features five homes spanning four different neighborhoods – Cotswold, Myers Park, Plaza Midwood, and Oakhurst. The self-guided tour offers insider access to the best examples of midcentury modern architecture and design in the Charlotte area. The Mad About Modern Home Tour won Charlotte Magazine’s 2019 Best of the Best (BOB) Award for Best Home Tour.

Here’s a sneak peak into the featured homes:

100 Hermitage Lane, Myers Park – This 4500 sq ft home was built in 1914 and features a home addition that received an honor award from both the North Carolina and South Atlantic regions of the American Institute of Architects.

3101 Loma Lane, Plaza Midwood – You’ll fall in love with the outdoor sculptures before even stepping foot inside this 1951, 2300 sq ft home.

1320 Levy Way, Oakhurst – This 2016, like-new construction home boasts at 2757 sq ft with a stunning black-and-white contrasting exterior.
