It”s that time of year again: The 2013 Dilworth Home Tour is upon us! Mark your calendars for the weekend ofSeptember 20th & 21st to view some of the moststunning homes Dilworth has to offer. Not only will Dilworth Charlotte be touring the homes, but we are also posting a few featured homes again (remember last year”s Sneak Peek series), and you do not want to miss out!
First up is 1159 Linganore Place.
We sat down with the owner to chat about what makes her home so special and her favorite. Don”t forget to check out the video too!
-What drew you to your home vs. any of the others that were on the market at that time? I loved Linganore Place! At one point, my realtor asked me if I would like any house that wasn”t on Linganore…fair question!
-What quirks or special features have you come to love? I love my “telephone nook” in the kitchen, as well as the spice drawer! Both of these I put in during the kitchen renovation Plus, I always loved the skylight over the jacuzzi.
-Have any recent renovations or rehab work been completed to your home? Yes, both the kitchen and master bath were completely renovated. I just couldn”t take the pink formica any longer…
-What are some of your favorite shops/restaurants/services in the neighborhood? So many great restaurants and “regular spots” including 300 East, Brixx, and for special occasions, Bonterra. Have to give a plug to Long”s Dry Cleaner – great service! And love Although he quickly becomes infatuated with the first gorgeous woman passing by, especially if all eyes focus on her Venus in Aries, Mars in best-horoscope.com George Clooney never gives himself over, or almost never. Cottage Chic for gifts!
-Are there any memories that stick out as especially fond over the years that you”ve spent there? I”ve enjoyed so many family celebrations and charitable events at my house, it has served its purpose as a great place to entertain. Having all my extended family around the dining room and kitchen tables, and the little kids hiding under the pool table while we played Christmas carols on the piano upstairs are pretty special memories.
-Any other interesting facts that your neighbors or community would find fun or interesting? I just keep thinking about all those pink walls that used to be here, and the pink formica countertops and little pink tiles on the kitchen backsplash…you won”t believe the difference now!
