Cocktails in the Courtyard at Duke Mansion

Here’s the best news I’ve heard all summer – the Duke Mansion extended their signature “Cocktails in the Courtyard” series through the end of August. Every Monday through Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM, the mansion is open to the public to enjoy drinks in the iconic Myers Park estate home. It’s free to attend and proceeds from the cash bar help support the Duke Mansion.

Black and white marble flooring leads you through the lobby to the cash bar. There is a generous selection of wine, beer, soft drinks, and spirits. Grab a map of the property, which is conveniently shaped like a fan! Walk around the legendary gardens or find a quiet seat. There’s plenty of tables and benches tucked around the grounds.

The Duke Manion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built over 100 years ago by James Buchanan Duke, who shaped Duke University, the Duke Endowment, and Duke Energy. The home currently operates as a nonprofit event venue as well as a bed and breakfast. All proceeds preserve and protect the four and a half acre property and the beautiful gardens that surround the 32,000 square foot estate.
