How long has your business been in Charlotte? Dilworth?
I started this business in Dilworth 12 months ago.
Why did you choose Dilworth over other areas in Charlotte?
My first day was July 16, 2012. I chose Dilworth because I love the culture, proximity to everything, I have friends here, and I live 8 minutes away. My wife and I plan to move to this area in the future.
What have you come to love about the neighborhood? The reason that I love the area is that I can be within walking distance to grocery stores, shops, restaurants. The schools are the best in Charlotte as well. I also like the “community” feel. The businesses are part of the neighborhood as well.
What is your favorite experience or most surprising experience about being located in Dilworth or having Dilworth patients? The sense of the neighborhood feel. The residents here promote this area. They work to improve this area and help it grow to become a better area. It takes a community to raise a child.
What is your favorite lunch or dinner spot in Dilworth? This is a tough one. There are too many good spots to chose just one. But if I have to, I will give the nod to RuSans. I have been a loyal customer for 16 years.
Any partnerships or good working relationships with other Dilworth businesses or practices? I try to partner up with everyone. We are stronger if we stand together. I support the local business because I want them to support me. If I need medication, I go to Dilworth Drug. If I need lunch, I go to the locally owned restaurants. We are all in the same boat and it is our duty to support each other.
What sets you apart from other practices in Charlotte?
Each of my patients is a personal friend. They get my cell number when they leave. If there is an after hours issue with their eyes or health, either them or a friend/family member, they have a person to call. I also offer little to no wait times. I respect peoples schedules and I hate to keep them waiting for me.
What else would you like the community to know about Dilworth Eye?
We are not like your regular big box store. Our patient is not just a number. Each person is special to us. You are our neighbor, our friend, they guy we cycle with on the booty loop, the guy that comes over for a cookout. If you need a set of contacts to go on a trip tomorrow and its 10 pm, I will come out to the business and get you something to get you by.
