Q: How long has your business been in Charlotte? Dilworth? A:We”ve been in this shopping center for over 20 years! We”ve had our other location in Ballantyne Village for six years. Q: Why did you choose Dilworth over other areas of Charlotte for your location? A: In 1991, after grad school, I moved to Charlotte in search of a great location. We were looking for a small shopping center withoutany mass retailers that also had a neighborhood feel. We looked for almost a year with our realtor and found nothing! One day we found this incredible location and knew we had to jump on it. Dilworth was very different back then andwe”ve definitelyseen a lot of transformation! Our business has only gotten better over the last gambling online casinos 20 years as Dilworth continued to grow.
Q:What have you come to love about the neighborhood? A: We feel so privileged that we”ve been able to see Dilworth transform over the years into the incredible, pedestrian-friendlyneighborhood that it is today! The IC London crew loves being able to walk just a block away for a cup of coffee or choose from one of the many local restaurants for lunch or dinner. We feel like we”re right in the middle of it all!
Q:What is your favorite lunch/dinner spot in Dilworth? A: Thai Taste & Zen are some of our favorites! We also like to eat at East Blvd Bar & Grill with the kids, and Pio Pio is great too!
Q: Have you made any partnerships or good working relationships with other Dilworth businesses or vendors? A: Whenever we do events, we try to partner with Sloan (also located in the same shopping center) and the other retailers in our center; we tend to share our customers and do what we can to support each other. We”ve found that we also end up working closely with The Milky Way as new mom”s need baby apparel and also new “mommy” apparel.
Q: What do you think sets you apart from other specialty boutiques in Charlotte? A: We have clients (ranging in age from 25-75) who come from all over the Carolinas – Raleigh, Greenville, Columbia,Winston-Salem – just to buy from our store! We carry specialty sizes that other places cannot offer. We also specialize in bra fittings and even do “bra discussions” with local businesses who request our services.
Additionally, some lingerie boutiques tend to focuson “sexy” lingerie– butwe carry everything! We”ve also been selling pajamas as a “lifestyle”– pj”s that women want to change into after work to get comfy.
Q: What has been your favorite experience/most surprising experience about being located in Dilworth or having Dilworth residents as clients?
A: A lot of clients come to theshop by foot or bike and even bring their dogs! The dogsrelax outside while the clients shop, and it creates such a funand friendly atmosphere.
Q: What else would you like the community to know about I.C. London? A: All of our sales associates are trained to do “bra fittings” and we cover a broad array of sizes. After a proper fitting, we findoften people are wearing the wrong size bra and when we”re able to fit them and get the the correct size, it”s life-changing!
