Dilworth Business Series: Wine & Design
Earlier this week we had the pleasure to experience one of Dilworth’s best-kept secrets: Wine & Design. This do-it-yourself art studio creatively mixes two of our favorite things…art and wine with friends! Located right upstairs from popular lunch spot Something Classic off East Boulevard, Wine & Design allows people with all skill levels to choose from their calendar of eventsin determining whichpiece of art they’d like to paint!
Even for a novice like myself, the experience was truly incredibly– largely due to the teacher giving us step-by-step instructions. I walked in feeling intimidated, but left with a true sense of accomplishement and a new piece of art to hang in my home! Not to mention, having a great night with friends and doing something out of the ordinary 🙂

How long has your business been in Charlotte? Dilworth? We opened last October so we have been in open in Dilworth for a little over a year.
Why did you choose Dilworth over other areas of Charlotte? We looked at tons of properties in Charlotte but always came back to this location in Dilworth. We actually found it by accident when we were waiting to meet our realtor to look at other properties and fell in love right away.
What have you come to love about the neighborhood? We knew we wanted to be in the Dilworth area from the beginning because it is such a great area of Charlotte. It has a historic and relaxed atmosphere that caters to everyone from young professionals to families.
What is your favorite lunch spot in Dilworth? Favorite shop? We love Something Classic, especially since it right downstairs which makes it convenient as well. We also frequent Brixx and Toast Dilworth for brunch.
Have you made any partnerships or good working relationships with other Dilworth businesses or vendors? One of our first goals was to go around and meet as many local business owners in Dilworth as possible. We have worked closely with many of them from the start and look forward to meeting some of the new business owners that have just moved into the area as well.
What do you think sets you apart from other “wine and design” type locations in Charlotte? We have amazing artists! The artists are a huge part of our business and without them and their creativity we would not be where we are today. All of our local artists are top notch people and they do such a great job of making our customers feel at ease when they come to a class which makes them want to come back and paint again.
What has been your favorite experience/most surprising experience about being located in Dilworth or having Dilworth residents as clients? One of our favorite things about Dilworth is the people. We have tons of repeat customers who live in the area and come in to paint. Some of them also bring their children in for our Art Buzz Kids classes, camps and birthday parties. We really enjoy meeting all of the different types of people who live in Dilworth.
What else would you like the community to know about Wine & Design? Anyone can paint with us, even if you think you might not be a great artist. The atmosphere at Wine & Design is relaxed and fun and we promise you will leave with a masterpiece you are happy with. We are available 7 days a week for public classes and private parties and would love to get to know even more of our Dilworth neighbors!
