Your Guide To Thanksgiving in Dilworth!
Thanksgiving in Dilworth is one of my favorite times of the year. Whether you're staying in and cooking for one, entertaining friends, or cooking for the entire family, there is nothing like being in Dilworth for Thanksgiving.
If your entertaining at home this year chances are you're getting the house ready for company and stocking your kitchen for the big day!
There are a few Dilworth businesses that are my personal "go to" when it comes to my turkey day prep. One of the best shops in town to shop for seasonings and to add flavor to any dish is Savory Spice on South Blvd.
My Savory Spice Recommendations...
A must have for any Thanksgiving Day meal is the Turkey Brining Kit. https://www.savoryspiceshop.com/products/turkey-brining-kit
...but a close second is the Holiday Roast Turkey. https://www.savoryspiceshop.com/products/holiday-roast-turkey
Also, If you're playing guest this year one of my favorite gifts to bring a host is the Wonders of The World Gift Set https://www.savoryspiceshop.com/products/wonders-of-the-world-gift-set
On the subject of gift giving. If your planning on exchanging gifts onThanksgiving this year, my all time favorite local gift shop in Dilworth is Paper Sky Scraper located at 330 East Blvd.
Another option is CLT Find located at 1235 East Blvd which just opened their Dilworth location in September 2022.
If cooking is not your thing Sunflower Baking Company on East Blvd has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day menu available to preorder until 11/20/22.
Sunflower offers 9 inch pies in regular ($30), gluten free ($32), and vegan ($32) options. Flavors include Apple, Pecan, Bourbon, Pumpkin, Salted Carmel Brownie, and Pumpkin Cheesecake. They also offer a 6 inch Fall Harvest Chocolate and French Toast Cake for $39 that is to die for!
They offer a selection of savory treats like Mini Dinner Rolls, Mini Cheddar Biscuits, Pimento Cheese Dip for $12, and a variety of Quiches for $32 that are super yummy as well.
Walk in retail available 11/21-11/24.
Not in the mood to be home this year? Dilworth has you covered on that as well. There are a few local restaurants that are open for Thanksgiving ....
Copper Cuisine of India at 311 East Blvd is open on Thanksgiving from 5pm-10pm. Reservations are strongly encouraged 704-333-0063
Sullivans Steakhouse at 1928 South Blvd is open for their Thanksgiving Service at $49 per guest. Make a reservation here https://www.sullivanssteakhouse.com/reservation/
Charlotte Beer Garden at 1300 S Tryon St in South End is open 11am-2am serving their regular menu https://charlottebeergarden.com/menu/
Just don't forget to take a pre meal stroll around the neighborhood first. As the last bit of fall foliage falls to the ground you hear cheers coming from all the houses as football fans gather around their TV sets. Outside you will find a few neighbors putting up their holiday decor as they wave as you go by. 10/10 this is a must do for Thanksgiving Day in Dilworth!
If the weather is nice Latta Park in the heart of Dilworth is also a great place to go for a walk or take the kids out of the house for a bit to play!
Once Thanksgiving Day is over take the whole family to Old Mecklenburg Brewery at 4150 Yancey Rd for their 11th Annual Christmas Market from 11am-11pm Fri.11/25 - Sat.11/26 and 10am-10pm on Sun.11/27.
Enjoy hot cocoa, fire pits, entertainment, and visits from the big guy himself, that's right Santa!
And speaking of Santa, if you want to see a ton of vintage blow mold Santa's on display, check out the infamous "Santa House" near Park Rd in the heart of Dilworth.
Bottom line you can't beat this time of year in the city. It's time to gather, give thanks, and enjoy your friends and family and there is no better place to do it than Historic Dilworth in Charlotte, NC..
